Selection Before Sale

A protection dog should never be selected from a catalogue

At K9 Elite Philippines, we do not sell a dog simply because it is available. Every client has different needs, and every dog has a different temperament, character and working ability.

We begin by understanding your family, lifestyle, home environment, experience with dogs and security requirements. We then search through trusted professional contacts in the Netherlands for the dog that best matches those needs.

Our responsibility is not to find you any protection dog. It is to professionally select the right dog for you.

Imported Dutch-trained protection dog
Why Dutch Trained Dogs?

Proven working-dog knowledge, training culture and professional standards

The Netherlands has earned an international reputation for producing outstanding working dogs. Dutch trainers are known for developing confidence, environmental stability, obedience, control, courage and reliable working ability.

Not every dog we select will hold a KNPV certificate. Some may have recognized working titles, while others may be professionally trained without formal competition certification. A certificate alone does not determine whether a dog is suitable for a particular family.

Our focus is always on the individual dog: its temperament, health, stability, social behavior, trainability and suitability for the client's real-life circumstances.

Dutch working-dog training experience
Founder Experience

More than 30 years of Dutch working-dog experience

The founder of K9 Elite Philippines has more than 30 years of experience working with Dutch-trained dogs and trained within the renowned KNPV system in the Netherlands.

This background provides the practical knowledge needed to assess far more than a short demonstration. Each candidate can be evaluated for character, nerve strength, environmental confidence, social stability, obedience, health information, working drive, trainability and long-term suitability.

It also provides access to trusted breeders, trainers and professional working-dog contacts in the Netherlands, allowing us to search for a suitable candidate instead of limiting clients to a fixed inventory.

Professional Matching

What we consider before selecting a dog

01

Family & Household

Lifestyle & Experience

Daily activity, travel, handling experience, available time and confidence managing a trained working dog.

03

Home Environment

Property type, living arrangements, visitors, staff, neighborhood conditions and environmental demands.

04

Security Requirements

The level of deterrence, obedience, control and personal or residential protection appropriate for the client.

06

02

03

Professional Evaluation

04

Client Presentation

We explain why the selected dog is considered the strongest match and provide the available information about that dog.

05

Importation & Preparation

We coordinate transport planning, documentation, pre-delivery preparation and the dog's arrival in the Philippines.

06

Owner Transition Training

The owner receives structured instruction in commands, handling, routines, safety, bonding and responsible maintenance.

Transition & Owner Training

A trained dog still requires a trained owner

The success of a protection dog depends on the partnership with its owner. After arrival, we provide structured transition training to help the dog settle into its new environment and to give the owner the confidence to handle it correctly.

Training may include bonding, household routines, obedience commands, equipment use, family integration, controlled protection commands, maintenance training and long-term safety responsibilities.

Continuing support is available to help preserve the dog's training and strengthen the relationship between dog and owner.

Responsible placement

A protection dog is not suitable for every person or household. If we believe that a candidate dog—or a protection dog in general—is unsuitable for a client's circumstances, we will provide honest advice rather than recommend an unsafe or inappropriate placement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Important information before beginning the process

Can I choose the dog myself?

No. Selecting a suitable protection dog requires extensive practical experience and professional knowledge. Most clients do not have the background necessary to accurately assess temperament, nerve strength, environmental stability, social behavior, health information, trainability and long-term suitability.

After a detailed consultation, K9 Elite Philippines professionally evaluates and selects the dog considered the best match for your family, lifestyle and security requirements. You will be involved throughout the process and may have the opportunity to meet or interact with the selected dog before final acceptance, but the professional selection itself remains based on our experience and expertise.

We don't let clients choose a dog—we professionally select the right dog for the client.

Does every imported dog have a KNPV certificate?

No. The founder's experience includes training within the Dutch KNPV system, but not every suitable dog will hold a KNPV certificate. Some dogs may have working titles, while others may be professionally trained without formal certification. Every dog is assessed on its individual quality and suitability for the client.

Are these dogs suitable for families with children?

Family compatibility is an essential part of the evaluation. The presence and ages of children, household routines and adult handling experience are all considered. No dog is automatically suitable for every family, which is why professional matching and controlled introduction are necessary.

Can you guarantee a specific breed, age or appearance?

Preferences can be discussed during the consultation, but temperament, stability, health and suitability take priority over color, appearance or breed preference. Availability depends on the quality of suitable candidates in the Netherlands.

Do you provide support after the dog arrives?

Yes. Owner instruction, transition training and continuing support are important parts of the service. The exact training and support package will depend on the dog, the owner and the placement requirements.

Our Commitment

The right dog matters more than the fastest sale

Our reputation is built on the quality of the partnerships we create—not on the number of dogs we import. Every recommendation is made with the safety, suitability and long-term success of both the client and the dog in mind.

Availability, price, training level and delivery time vary by dog. No dog is guaranteed to be suitable until consultation, evaluation and professional matching have been completed.
