Animal Welfare Policy

1. Commitment

K9 Elite Philippines is committed to humane, proportionate and professionally supervised training. Animal welfare is considered in program selection, workload, equipment, rest, hydration, environmental conditions and progression.

2. Fitness to Train

Dogs must be physically and behaviorally fit for the planned activity. Training may be modified or stopped when illness, pain, excessive stress, heat risk, injury, fatigue or unsafe behavior is observed.

3. Owner Duties

Owners must provide accurate health information, suitable food, water, medication, shelter, transport, equipment and veterinary care. They must not conceal disease, injury or medication.

4. Training Methods

Methods and equipment must be used lawfully, competently and for a legitimate training purpose. Deliberate cruelty, neglect, unnecessary suffering and unauthorized punishment are prohibited.

5. Protection and Bite Work

Bite work is conducted only with assessed dogs, suitable equipment, trained personnel and controlled procedures. Dogs must not be encouraged to target unauthorized persons or deployed unlawfully.

6. Weather and Heat

Sessions may be shortened, moved or cancelled when heat, humidity, storms, flooding, surface temperature or other conditions create unacceptable risk.

7. Emergencies

Reasonable emergency action may include first aid, cooling, separation, transport or veterinary referral. Owners remain responsible for veterinary costs unless a written agreement or law provides otherwise.
